I 'm 93 years old and I've survived cancer and heart failure.
I'm originally from Edmonton and spent much of my life in Western Canada, although I lived in Ontario for many years.
When John retired, we moved to White Rock, BC, where we spent 26 happy years before moving back to Toronto in 2018. We now live at the Bradgate Arms, at Avenue Road and St. Clair.
When I moved to Toronto in 2018, I was suffering from Stage 4 heart failure and I was on oxygen. But I had an amazing operation! Originally, I was turned down for this procedure by Toronto General Hospital. They didn't think I could survive it at 90. The doctors in BC also said that I was doomed.
This is picture of me and my husband, John, with
Dr. Neil Fam of St. Michael's Hospital who performed the operation and saved my life. He gave me another chance.
As you can see, I'm doing great!
